provide Actemra® (tocilizumab) for the treatment of adult patients with moderate
to severe rheumatoid arthritis
(RA).
The announcement comes on the heels
of the FDA's approval of Genentech's Actemra®
(tocilizumab). Actemra® is indicated for adult RA patients who have had an
inadequate response to one or more tumor necrosis factor (TNF) antagonist
therapies. Actemra® is approved for once-a-month intravenous administration in settings
such as doctor's offices, hospitals and infusion centers. Actemra® may be used
alone or in combination with methotrexate or other disease modifying
anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs).
